The Plant Education Research Initiative is a global research and networking initiative seeking to animate an accessible and informed public debate on alternative education that allows students to study plant life as part of their curriculum. In particular, it examines horticultural techniques, plant biology, soil science, while providing coordination, financing and governance of education.
Plant Research Initiatives
|Agriculture and Food Research Initiative – Foundational and Applied Science Program
|The AFRI Foundational and Applied Science Program supports grants in six AFRI priority areas to advance knowledge in both fundamental and applied sciences important to agriculture. The six priority areas are: Plant Health and Production and Plant Products; Animal Health and Production and Animal Products; Food Safety, Nutrition, and Health; Bioenergy, Natural Resources, and Environment; Agriculture Systems and Technology; and Agriculture Economics and Rural Communities.
|Specialty Crop Research Initiative (SCRI)
|The purpose of the SCRI program is to address the critical needs of the specialty crop industry by awarding grants to support research and extension that address key challenges of national, regional, and multi-state importance in sustaining all components of food and agriculture, including conventional and organic food production systems.
|NC Plant Sciences Initiative (PSI)
|The NC Plant Sciences Initiative (PSI) is bringing the brightest minds in academia, government and industry together to drive innovation that increases yields, creates new varieties, extends growing seasons, enhances agricultural and environmental sustainability and produces new and improved technology.
|Bioversity International’s mission is to deliver scientific evidence, management practices and policy options to use and safeguard agricultural and tree biodiversity to attain sustainable global food and nutrition security.
|Mold Resistant Strains
|The Mold Resistant Strains program is breeding mold and mildew resistant cannabis strains to grow from seed indoors and outdoors. Sativa and indica strains available as regular, feminized and autoflowering seeds. Landrace, hybrid and IBL genetics. Research on marijuana seeds in the United States and cannabis cultivation techniques for legal states.
|Plant Sciences – Purdue Moves
|Pioneering science fuels Purdue’s innovative approaches to the growing demand for food, fuel and fiber. The University’s investment in plant science research at the launch of Purdue Moves in 2013 has generated tens of millions of dollars in new grants and gifts that have strengthened research programs and our ability to deploy discoveries for global impact.
